Wolf Spider (Pisaura Lugubris)

This attractively marked wolf spider although very small I find interesting to observe in the wild they carry there egg-sacs attached to the spinnerets, which means they can still feed. They have large eyes located front and side for all round vision. They do not spin webs but instead run down and jump on there prey before devouring them. Can be found sometimes in large numbers sunning themselves along paths, on edges of forests

Location: Farley Mount, Hampshire, UK.   Date: 23/05/09
