This magnificent memorial which stands in East Park Southampton is dedicated to the heroic engineering staff, who died in the disaster on the 15th April 1912.
Who remained at their post until the bitter end, even keeping the lights working to help the passengers find their way to the lifeboats. In total 1,523 people died on the ill-fated voyage, sailing from Southampton to New York.
The bronze and granite memorial/ statue was unveiled on April 22nd 1914.
