Slow-worm (Anguis Fragilis)

These two lovely Slow Worms were found under a piece of asbestos in a disused farm building, there were other slow worms in the area found under some corrugated tin. This is a typical habitat to find Slow-worms, which is why photographers some like to film them on a rust background. When I found these two my camera was in my bag so I slowly replaced the asbestos. I then lifted the asbestos a second time with my camera already focused and they still had not moved. But like lizards, they were watching me and would have probably slid away quite fast if I got too close. I did not see them move at all but why disturb them when they allowed me to take a few nice pictures.
