I filmed this Red Admiral feeding in my garden on heather on the 16th February 2014 Briefly woken by the warm sunshine between showers. Which is not unusual for these lovely butterflies I have seen them flying in sunshine with snow on the ground. It was not taking any chances though. Not to be caught outside in the cold, every time the sun disappeared behind clouds the butterfly flew back to its winter resting place in my garage.
