Oak Leaf Roller Beetle (Attelabus Nitens)

Location: Farley Mount, Hampshire, UK.

Belongs to the family of weevils called an Oak Leaf Roller because the beetle rolls an oak leaf to enclose its eggs. The larvae spend the winter inside the rolled leaf on the ground and in the spring the larvae dig into the ground to pupate.
