Laybyrinth Spider (Agelena Labyrinthica)

This Labyrinth spider photographed in the New Forest was found on heathland at ground level, they spin a large sheet of web with the main funnel-shaped retreat. This species of spider also constructs a labyrinth of tunnels further down which gives this spider its name. Remains of its prey can be seen scattered around its web.
