Hotel Hovima review by Andy Newman©

Hotel Hovima previously called “Luabay”  (Thomson Travel Agents)

We were impressed with this hotel its larger than it looks and we thought it was very posh. We arrived in early June so is was not too busy, we had lovely weather but the week before we arrived it rained every day. The rooms were cleaned daily and the cleaners left a fresh bottle of water. Although we could hear people talking in the next apartment and one occupant was hammering on the walls because of a younger group next to us being too loud. So soundproofing was not very good and the very noisy doors slamming at night on marble floors can be annoying especially for families with young children. We had a bug hiding behind our sealed bed board which chirped in the night, I did not think it was a gecko. Being a bug man I thought  it was a cockroach it stopped when we switched the light on, I suppose I should have complained. I sprayed the back bed board with a David Beckham Deodorant spray. The spray worked for a few hours and then the critter was back singing even louder because he was the nicest smelling bug on the block trying to attract a mate.

The pool areas had fantastic views across the sea and plenty of entertainment and games going on during the day especially for children. With snack and drink bars during the day. The sea is only a five minute walk across the road, with lovely walks along the coast.
