Fly Agaric (Amanita Muscaria)

Location: New Forest National Park

This probably one of the most well known and easiest to identify than any other toadstool, it gets its name from being used  as a fly killer. Fungi was added to a saucer of milk to attract and kill flies, I would have thought other animals as well. It can cause hallucinations, muscle spasms, stomach upsets and can be fatal, reminds me of my adder bite.
Like many toadstools it has tiny hair-like roots which siphon off nutrients from tree roots.
This is a really nice large colourful toadstool to find in the wild to photograph, even better if it is growing in a nice landscape location.
