Cauliflower Fungi Andy

Cauliflower fungus (Sparassis crispa)

This interesting parasitic fungus is feeds mainly on the roots of pine trees it resembles a cauliflower from which it gets its name. I filmed this one under the very tall trees along Rhinefield Ornamental Drive in the New Forest and have seen this fungi growing in the same place for many years. The fungus I have filmed is mature; a few days later it will look a soggy mess. Edible and fairly common in the United Kingdom.
