Bedstraw Hawk moth  (Hyles gallii)

This attractive immigrant hawk moth is a frequent visitor especially the south of England and coastal localities in the UK. The caterpillars which are green or brownish with bright yellow spots are sometimes found feeding on bedstraw or willowherb. There is only one generation a year in this country. They are often available from collectors and butterfly farms and insect stockists on the web.
